Profile Of The Mosque

Sakaf Roza Masjid is situtated in the heart of the historic mohalla (Street) named after the saint /Sufi Sayed Jaffar Sakaf an Yemani Sadat who migrated during the Adil Shahi period.Adil Shah accepted his advice to use cannons in war against the enemy and won the battle. The Saint was bestowed with Inams and provided with other facilities for Tableeg-E-Deen and spread of Islam.

The Masjid ,a small beautifully stoned built mosque, accomodated the residents of the mohalla in earlier days. With the increase in the number of houses, expansion of the premises was felt from time to time and the same was carried accordingly. For meetimg modern days challenges in the field of education ,Science and protecting the cultural identity the Jamat has undertaken many steps including the restructing of traditional old Arabic madrasa, setting up of an Islamic library with books audio/video cassettes.A Baitulmaal is functioning for the last 3 years under the supervision of dedicated committee. An exclusive weekly Ijtema for ladies is organised on the tin sheet roofed first floor of the masjid on each Sunday.

With the enlargement of the activities of the Jamat and for accomodating ladies for Namaz by providing a separate prayer hall. The present carpet area now available on the ground and Ist floor is found to be very inadequate. Therefore the need for further expansion/alterations with better modern basic amenities for taharat Wadu etc was badly felt. The work now under progress as per the plan drawn by an Architect at an estimated cost of Rs 10 Lakhs includes separate Taharat Khana ,Wadu Khana, 3 Shops and an office room for Jamat staircase ,Namaz hall for ladies on first floor and accomodation for Arabic Madrasa/Library on second floor.

The funds are being raised by way of compulsary contribution from the members .Donations from the community and well wishers .The Jamaat has already contributed from its reserves towards the preliminary expenses since the masjid has no permanent source of income additional funds are being raised through donations from the societies/Institutions having provisions for such donations .
